[Scam Alert] Google Profusion

Have you seen Google Profusion on your social network (e.g.: Facebook, Twitter, or maybe on Google)? I saw the ads “Mystery Shoppers Wanted” while lurking on Facebook. It looks pretty tempting that you can make “instant” cash by investing USD$0.99 for the Internet Kit.

What’s the catch?
Once you sign up using the Kit, you will be charged a monthly fee of USD$60. Do note on the fine print that you will be billed unless you cancel your membership within 3 days.

Google with the keywords Google Profusion Scam, you will find results from Yahoo Answers and see statements from REAL people and their bad experiences. You may ask “Are there other legit ways to earn money and you don't have to pay?” Why not try to get Google’s Blogger account for free and sign-up to their Adsense also for free.

TomTom GPS on iPhone

Recently upgraded TomTom GPS v1.1 with Malaysia & Singapore v835-2458.
Quote from iTunes
What's New In This Version:
Enhanced GPS technology
- Shows your location on the map with greater precision
- Follows your car more accurately while you drive
New "Navigate to contact" engine:
- Handles many more address formats including abbreviations
- Better supports US addresses
Map v835-2458 still lack details of Malaysia map. However, Singapore map is fine. There are a lot of city road in Malaysia missing (unnamed road). Such a disappointment.

Surrogates SMS contest by 8TV - misleading advertisement

On 14 Oct 2009 afternoon, I was informed by a close friend that there is a Surrogates SMS contest held by 8TV. Grand Prize: Nintendo Wii (which I am researching with intention to purchase for my niece). So I did some research over the net on the movie from the web.

As advertised in their web, all 5 questions should be based on the movie but when I received the questions, they were at least 2 questions on 8TV programmes. I tried several rounds further and found all rounds had a few 8TV programme questions. After the contest I called a close friend and found the content provider who organized the SMS contest. I emailed them on the false advertisement and questions replied from their SMS gateway. The next day, they replied that to contact 8TV customer service at 0377288282.

Who should be responsible?

Update 19/10/09 1125AM: - A lady called from 8TV and informed I won consolation prize. I complaint about the false advisetiment to public and was asked to forward the complaint to her. Will update again after I receive the reply from 8TV.
